A light in the Darkness

Pain… Financial Difficulties… Loneliness… Not knowing where to go…

Shanti Avedna Sadan is India’s first Hospice, an institution that takes care of the advanced terminally ill Cancer patients. It is neither a hospital nor a home, but is in fact both, offering the specialized care of a hospital together with the love and care of a home.

Shanti means peace, Avedna signifies absence of Pain and Sadan is a home. Shanti Avedna Sadan literally means “Peace in the absence of pain”. The Logo makes use of a quote from St.Augustine: “Where there is love, there is no pain” and it goes on to say “if there is pain, it is a pain that is loved!”
